Lights! Camera! Act- WHERE ARE THE LIGHTS!?

For this years play, “The Crucible” I joined light crew. I wanted to more involved with after school activities (well, that and I wanted to hang out with my friend after school…said friend then proceeded to drop out on me.) As it turns out, light crew- or any play crew fro that matter- is not something to be taken lightly (haha, a joke! Get it! Cuz it’s lights, and it can’t be taken lightly! Get it! No… Oh, okay then…)

This year, there are fewer crew members than ever before (there are only 8 people in all of crews, not just lights, 8 total), most of us are new at this, and the actors have had a rough time getting their lines down. We haven’t been able to have a full tech rehearsal, which means that we haven’t known how our lights, sound, or props are doing. The DAY BEFORE our first show, the tech teacher tells us we have to redo most of the lights, because the timing is off. Our light head had to stay late alone and redo it all, I’m sure that was fun! (NOT)

Luckily, the show went well(ish) and no major problems arose (well they did on Thursday, when everything went wrong, but the other shows went well!) so YAY for that!
