In elementary we would go ‘Taylor B.’ or ‘Taylor C.’ that just gets annoying. Ergo, Nicknames. Recently I discovered (as I was trying to tell Clayton that I needed him to text Carolyn for me since my hands were full but she’s labeled under pikachu) there are some really weird nicknames that seem to have no origin out there.

By far some of the weirder ones I’ve heard are the ones I don’t realize are nicknames until someone tells me. For instance Mistyn is a nickname of whose origin I have no clue or what his actual name is. I was introduced to Totoro as Totoro and didn’t realize that his real name was Jake until he finally went “Why the heck do people call me that??? My name’s Jake! JAKE!” a month after I met him. Then there’s Quail, whose name I didn’t know until I read his name plate on his door… I think its Carson.

Then there’s the totally ridiculous names that just stick. Like Furby (Danny)! Or Pikachu(Carolyn). Or Dragon(Deanne)… Puff the magic Dragon(Dragos from Romania)… Anakin(Jakob)…Furrie(Stephanie)…Miss Ng(Stephanie Ng)…Simon(Patrick). Then theres the ones that make since. Mills(Miller) or TJ (Thomas Jones) Etc.

Doesn’t it annoy you when there’s those kids with the same name… especially when you go “Hey Taylor!” and six people turn there head and go “which taylor”.
