Ok, looks like they are really called “ground burrowing yellow jackets.” (or I’ve been affectionately calling them tracker-jackers (Hunger Games movie reference) ). Our neighbors are probably wondering why we haven’t mowed recently, especially after all that rain. William mowed a couple weeks ago and got chased/stung by a bee, which we now know is a yellow-jacket. Our neighbors working on the doors/siding got chased/stung as well. It’s not like we haven’t sprayed them either… that just… REALLY IRRITATED them! Normally, I don’t like to kill bees but these are AGGRESSIVE! Spray can #1 didn’t work so we mistakenly assumed it was expired and bought another that they blatantly laughed at! Plan B is another “special” can of foam but requires up close and personal contact. William suggested that he wrap himself in his ski gear, goggles, helmet and all. I’ll let you know if this idea was idiotic or brilliant!
