Macedonia
[pics incl] We have two new hot water heaters now. No, the hot water heaters are not from Macedonia but the installers were. When they arrived, it was obvious that they had a significant accent from somewhere else. We were all sitting on the couch and I decided that I was going to ask them where they were from and challenged everyone to guess. Jeff took a moment and very seriously guessed, Macedonia. Well, knowing that he only knows a bit more geography than me… I just looked at him and said, “You already asked didn’t you?” Their native language was very intriguing to listen to as they spoke. They did a superb job on the hot water heater installation and YAY!!! clean… hot…. water!!!

If You Can’t Be Techy, Be Trekky
HAHA! Jeff and I were talking “techy” and William asked what a subnet is… but guessed that it’s “a spiderweb in subspace.” We really need to buy that domain!

A Gallon of Milk
We have milk delivery here in CO and we are spoiled! When the kids were little, we learned in a hurry that the gallon jugs were difficult to handle because they didn’t have handles per se. They had a swiveling grip over the top of the jug but little hands could not maneuver to pour without making a huge mess. I switched our standing order to half-gallons. I decided to switch back to gallons as the price difference is significant, considering that “we” are all grown up now. Well, Courtney promptly spilled the milk…. HMMMMM.

Graduation
We received notice that Courtney’s graduation is scheduled for May 24, 2013 at 9:00am. It is a ticketed event and we only get 6 tickets. If you think you may want to attend, holler ASAP so we can “ask” for more tickets. As we have previously learned, graduation can be rescheduled at any time with very little notice. Regardless, Courtney hopes to be on a plane to China two weeks later 😉
Friends and Family Networking
I have talked to several people this week (and especially today) that have mentioned their businesses seem to be slow at the moment. I got to thinking that maybe I could do some sort of friends & family networking… I could even put a link to your website here on my blog (and possibly others if it is appropriate). Whatcha think? Feel free to send me your business info (even if it’s just a hobby as a retired grandma 😉 ) and I’ll gladly share it with others. Maybe we can all help each other!

The Road to China
Courtney is very excited to have the opportunity to take a trip to China in June 2013. She has taken a part-time job to help pay for the trip. She is also hoping to utilize her Chinese language experience in whatever college major she selects. Therefore, she is still researching colleges that can support her in that effort. If any of you are looking for a helper around the house, babysitter, cat sitter, etc… Courtney would appreciate the chance to earn a few bucks (or Yen 😉 ).
[NOTE: Apparently it’s NOT Yen, it’s Yuan or qian]
Fixed the Blog
OOPS, sorry about that! Didn’t realize when “we” fixed it that the blog would try to catch up ALL AT ONCE on all it’s missed while it wasn’t emailing! Hopefully, it will mail out on Thursday morning like it always has (like it’s supposed to!). Keep your fingers crossed 😉

Happy Year of the Snake
Today is Chinese New Year, the Year of the Snake. Since Courtney and Ashley are both taking Chinese at the high school, we’ve been hearing about “the Year of the Snake” for a while now.
Courtney is also preparing and fundraising for her trip to China in June! She’s been working part-time and accepting any babysitting offers that come our way. Next on the list is getting her passport.
