Here kitty, kitty

William and I were going for a walk and couldn’t decide which way to go.  I said “Let’s go this way because then we can watch the sunset.”  We made it about one house away when our neighbor stepped out in front of us.  At the same time I noticed that there was something like a dog in the road up ahead (4 houses away or so).  I yelled ahead and said what is that? and realized she had a camera.  OH… she was taking a picture of the gorgeous sunset.  She didn’t move her camera and replied “I don’t know, I’m trying to zoom in… I think it’s a coyote.”  So as we stood next to her now, we all had a discussion…  But it looks like a cat?  Maybe it’s a fox?  Where’s the tail?  Suddenly, it crouched down into a “catlike stalking” position… definitely a cat… but it’s a HUGE cat!  We slowly crept toward it [this action brought out more neighbors to see what we were sneaking around about! ;-P]  So our group all started the “sneaky creepy walk” toward this giant cat… and it sprang into the yard it had been watching. We could see his profile in the sunset and it was definitely a bobcat.

One of our neighbors was a man 😉  He decided to go check it out and let those people know not to let out their small dog.  William wanted to go with him but in my mind’s eye, I still see that cute little 3 year old walking toward our ‘much smaller’ black cat saying “here kitty, kitty…” So I said, “Nope sorry… I think you’d be a snack!”

After all that excitement, it’s now much darker and William and I decided it’d be best to NOT go for our walk.  We determined that we had walked a grand total of 700 steps [per my pedometer]… Wow… ;-P
