Birthday Dinner with Jaime

[pics incl] We postponed birthday dinners at La Fogata so that Jim could go with us. However, William is on a church retreat this weekend. As usual, our food was fabulous, the service was excellent and the company as enjoyable as ever! So, if you are ever in Denver, stop at La Fogata, ask for Jaime… tell him Ashley sent you 😉

I Swear, It Will Be Done

We whipped out the peanuts and iocane powder and INSISTED that Jim sit down and watch The Princess Bride. It was inconceivable to us that someone who speaks in acronyms, innuendo and rhyme, hadn’t seen it! To the point, on Friday, he stumped William with G.E.F.G.W. and he bragged about his Earl Gray Tea rhyme ;-). Now he knows, that aside from never starting a land war in Asia, you should never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line AND that R.O.U.S. exist! WHEW!

[NOTE: You don’t know it either, do you? (Good Enough For Govt Work) ]

[HAHA! LOTS of requests for the rhyme… I *think* it was: “Lipton is swill, I once heard you say. For Christmas, I bought you this box of Earl Gray.” @Jim, please correct me if I’m wrong!]

[I DON’T THINK SO……. for R.O.U.S. you will have to watch the movie, that’d be like sharing a secret handshake!]

Brotherly Love

[pics incl] Ashley’s favorite chair was having serious issues, namely you fell through it if you sat down. William decided to pull out his entire tool collection 😉 However, he realized that he does not have any metric… so he pulled out all of Jeff’s too! I would offer advise only to discover that he was “on it.” So I did the only thing left, pulled out my camera, then went and sat in a chair to watch 🙂

Birthday Cupcakes

[pics incl]  Life has been so hectic lately and not everyone has been feeling well, so birthday cakes were put on hold.  Tonight, William needed to go to the grocery store for a school project and he sneaked over to the bakery section and had someone make some custom cupcakes 😉

Driving While Texting

I had picked Courtney up from tennis practice and as we were driving home there was a woman in the lane next to her side that was texting while driving.  She was not paying attention at a red light and was all over the place.  I made the comment that there was a sheriff’s deputy car a couple of cars behind her so let’s see what happens.  Sure enough, he pulled up in the far right turn lane on the other side of the texting driver, he even swerved when she swerved…. SIGH…. he was also… on the phone, oblivious to his surroundings.

Got the Truck Back!

[pics incl]  YAY!  We got the truck back today and it looks a lot better now!  Turns out the bracket from the semi-mudflap had punctured the radiator and a/c coils along with all the other damage seen in the other photos.

Letter From the White House

[pics incl]  OK, it’s not exactly a letter from the White House 😉  It’s a letter from a former White House doctor inviting Ashley to a Pre-Med student forum this summer?!?!  She had to be nominated and meet certain academic requirements, etc.  Needless to say, she’s running around giggling like the President himself is standing in the living room 😉

Birthday Sushi

[pics incl] Ashley was asking for sushi for her birthday so picked her up from school early and took Ashley and Heather out for lunch… pay close attention to Jeff’s fortune cookie! The waiter did NOT speak Chinese but was impressed that Ashley could say a few words and then she guessed he was from Korea. He giggled trying to sing Happy Birthday to them 😉 and of course expects to see us again tomorrow for Heather’s birthday!
