The Thanksgiving Glitch…es
Ya know how every year there’s a Thanksgiving glitch? Around here, it’s usually the pan of burnt glazed carrots that we’ve never actually served, but alas, this year we never got around to the carrots. Glitch…plan B, was the pipe under the sink failed and flooded the kitchen. Heather promptly pointed out that our Thanksgiving glitch had been found.
Honestly, you’d think I’d have learned by now to stay off FB during “glitches….”
So I posted: “Dear Lord, thank you for teaching me patience… I mean TRYING… thank you for trying to teach me patience… and plumbing. Thank you for TRYING to teach me patience & plumbing… ummm…. obviously, I need a remedial course… in BOTH!”
Not to be outdone, our Dear Lord, with the sense of humor and the impeccable timing, cut the power just minutes before we were done cooking our Thanksgiving meal 😉
New FB post: “God has a sense of humor, I said plumbing NOT electricity!”
Our meal was fabulous!
We had a quick visit from Velma & David (between glitches). It was nice to visit while we were preparing our meal. Glad they were able to stop by on their way to another feast 😉
Hope you had a fabulous “glitch-free” Thanksgiving!
Unusual Thanksgiving “Tradition”
I seriously doubt this will become a tradition…

Courtney’s Egg Drop Project
[pics incl] Courtney has a project to drop an egg from the roof and see if it lives. She has this brilliant idea to put it inside a bouncy-ball… hence Jeff, the cutting blade and the ball. I see this going badly… flashbacks to stitches in his finger… This time I wanted “before” pictures 🙂
[NOTE: 11/20/12 She said her egg died…]

Miles the Denver Bronco Mascot
[pics incl] It’s not everyday you get to do some exercise with an NFL mascot. Miles was teaching the elementary kids about exercise and eating right with the www.fueluptoplay60.com challenge. The winners get footballs signed by Brandon Stokely (sp?) or Eric Decker. I had already put the camera away when Miles came over to exercise/dance.

Is it ever too late for smoothies?
I’m just curious if it’s ever too late to drink a smoothie? AND, if you should scold your kids for being up in the middle of the night on a school night… making smoothies? I think not! That was awesome, and considering the fact that I’m pretty sure that Jeff had instigated the whole thing…..

UFO’s over Denver?
I wonder if the reported UFO sightings over Denver this weekend have anything to do with the constitutional amendment that Coloradans passed last week?
[if you haven’t heard, you need to look that up. I PROMISE, you’ll find this comment funny. 😉 ]
TV takeover
The kids had been in the living room incessantly watching consecutive episodes of some cartoon on Netflix. I had been outside where it was around 25 and decided I was gonna hang out by the fireplace… AND NOT watch the cartoons. I just said, “my turn on the TV, where’s the remote?”
Ashley bolts up and squeals “Let’s take over the TV in her room!!!”
POOF!
I suddenly found myself ALONE in the living room… fireplace on… remote control, big TV?!?!
Now imagine 4 kids crammed in my room with a crappy little TV on it’s final breath ;-P
Sometimes, there is no explanation for their sudden ingenious ideas. 😉

Veteran’s Day 2012
How do you thank people who are willing to die for you to have freedoms, when you are incapable or unwilling to do the same?
Saying thank you seems completely inadequate and yet, THANK YOU.

If you give a cat, a cracker
I was eating crackers in bed… (go ahead, sing the song,…. I’ll wait…)…
Peanut the cat, decided to come over and check out my crackers, like he had never seen a cracker. It’s possible that he has never seen a cracker, I guess. He was carrying on and sniffing and “not quite touching” my cracker, that I finally said “here, just take the cracker, then you will know whether or not you like crackers.”
Jeff, 1) doesn’t necessarily appreciate that I speak to cats as if they are human (ie. I speak cat) and 2) promptly pointed out that while he was allowing me to eat crackers in his bed anytime, he flat out forbids cats from snacking on crackers in his bed… EVER! And just so you know, that doesn’t rhyme when sung 😉
I haven’t determined if the cat likes crackers because he ate half of it. Does that mean “he only ate half so he must not like it” or ” he must like it because he ate half?”
So… if you give the cat a cracker… you get to tell the story.
