Hematology Appt 06/06/16

[pics incl]  They took 9 vials of blood to run a bunch of antibody panels.  (took 3 people and two draw but only one stick in each arm 😉 )!

The lupus-anticoagulant one from before was negative but we knew that because of the xarelto.  supposedly, these are not affected by xarelto.

Lots of words I don’t understand but for you medically minded, attached is a photo of the lab order for your browsing pleasure.  He printed it for Ashley because she couldn’t attend since she was ill and his office is in a cancer center (he appreciated her diligence).

Mother’s Day Manicotti

The kids made me manicotti for dinner.  Actually, Courtney has finals so Ashley did most of the prep work.  She has experience in the area because Stacy initiated her a couple of summers ago.  Ashley didn’t hold any out without the sauce though?  She hasn’t liked tomatoes since she was an infant, clearly she is not my child 😉 ok that’s not entirely fair because I hate ketchup 😉

So, thanks Ash for slaving over this meal that the rest of us thoroughly enjoyed!

Right Place or Wrong Place

I left early to p/u Will today.  I didn’t have a reason, I just did.  On the way, a trailer in the lane next to me blew a tire, it just shredded to pieces! We were going 75mph so the small trailer quickly became hazardous for the driver.  The car next to me was right behind them but somehow kept sanity and instead of diving into me, we both just hit our hazards and slowed down.  While this could have quickly gone from a bad situation to a wirse one, everyone stayed well back away from us, since tire fragments were flying all over the place and let us help guid this guy to the shoulder. kudos to HOLMES2 (car next to me had vanity plates) for not panicking!

About 10 min later on another freeway, a car a few ahead of me, also over to me left, suddenly overheated, while everyone else zipped around them , I was actually in a pretty good spot to let them exit illegally across a couple of lanes… so I did.

At first I was think I was in the wrong place at the wrong time a lot today…. but maybe… I was in the right place?

William said maybe I was in right place at wrong time 😉 or vice-versa

Dalton’s Give Back Event

Banana Bread 05/02/16

Know Anyone That Can Donate a Kidney?

First, it’s not for me.  

Sherri Bell Petrovic graduated from CCHS w/ me (several of us actually).  She was diagnosed with kidney disease at 28 and after dialysis, was the recipient of a cadaver kidney which has miraculously lasted her 16 years.  However, she has been back on dialysis for over a year again and docs are saying her best chance is with a living donor… none of her family is a match.  She needs an O or an A donor

She is reaching out to extended friends and family, looking for that someone, that angel out there, that is willing to donate now.

Celebrating Dalton’s 18th Birthday

[pics incl]  Today is Dalton’s 18th birthday (I had people explain to me tonight, that he now has two, this is his Earth Birthday, and his other Angel Birthday is 12/29/13)

I took just a couple panoramic photos, it was already crazy but our server said later that the line was out the door!  AWESOME!  Chili’s donated 15% and an anonymous donor is matching 100%



Our family went and rescued Herta Doig from sitting alone and we txt’d Marc Doig and Jeff because they could not be with us and we knew they were aching to be here. I even offered to let Herta stay at our house so she didn’t have to drive back to Co Springs in nasty weather (volunteering the kids to clean up after Heather of course 😉 )  The guys were glad to get this photo txt.

I quickly learned what it’s like to be on the flip side of the surprise visit when Marc and Cody walked in moments later!  Ashley took this photo to send to Jeff.  We now know that Herta can LIE with best of them and should go to poker night!  Herta-1, Scotts-0

Heather’s Dinner with Friends and Family

[pics incl]  After a snafu trying to figure out WHERE to go, a bunch of people got together at the last minute to hug on Heather.  I know she appreciated it!  I don’t think I have copies of all the photos taken with Heather but I’m sure she does and that’s what counts!

At one point Courtney and Ashley literally disappeared and we decided they died, but turned out they had just made a “non-imaginary” friend.  After I thoroughly grilled this waitress about questions from the menu (jk) 😉 I decided they were right and you know us and waiters right?!? (see the blog posts about Jaime).  We ALL officially adopted Jayda into our family and she was a sport about it and even took group family photos.  (by the time you read this she will be at her new job at Schomp Honda, stop by and say hi and tell her that crazy Scott family sent you)

Someone put Kevin in charge of our pics and he was crawling around on the floor on his knees so of course the photos all have us looking at the floor laughing at him!?  Good fun, too short a visit but thanks for everyone’s effort.

Update on Meds Change

Well, that meds change from my appointment on 04/13/16 is not going well at all.  I started feeling worse a few days ago and thought maybe I was just getting that cold going around but I am “well” just have a train sitting on my head, it’s LOUD, heavy and making it near impossible to function.  Let’s just say you probably won’t get through a conversation with me without my arm turning to ice, fingers going numb, neck swelling up… and/or pain & tears (sorry), usually I’m better about that.  Forget reading anything I try to spell, they show me and “I” have no idea what I tried to say.  I think the last time I slept was… a Tuesday 😉

I’m suggesting we tweak the other direction 😉

As usual, I’ll keep ya posted…
