Wash Your Mouth Out with Soap
I’m NEVER going to the store with kids again! [ http://blog.scottsontherocks.com/blog/2013/11/15/arm-wrestling/ ]
The other day, I bought “some green drink thang” for Ashley, she had me taste it. I said, “Tastes like baby food.” Of course, she misheard me, and the joke became “baby poo.”
TODAY, I was making a grocery list, and when Ashley said “baby poo,” I wrote it.
Ashley and Courtney went to the store with me… … … because they wanted Starbucks. Courtney’s drink was NASTY, “here, taste this!!” Ashley and I agreed it was NASTY!
We were on a row alone, except for one woman, standing right in the middle, in our way, so we took the opportunity to “check the list” and “comment on the taste of Courtney’s nasty drink.” Please imagine this conversation taking place, ALL AT THE SAME TIME, behind you at the grocery store ( of course you are pretending NOT to listen to us while you pretend to look for the item you have already located but not reached out to grab BECAUSE you are actually listening to the crazy group of giggling people near you! 🙂 )
Courtney is reading off the list, while Ashley and I are agreeing that Courtney’s drink is NASTY. “Peaches, got that. Hoagie bread, got that” “This is awful! I can’t get this taste out of my mouth!” “Baby poo, we already got that too. I NEED gum!” Ashley to Courtney: “Do you want to wash your mouth out with soap? It might help get the taste out?!” “HA! I HAVE GUM!”
That lady, (back toward us) tensed up, grabbed her item and RAN! We saw her later, she started to turn down our same aisle but she bolted the other way. When she left abruptly the first time, we couldn’t stop laughing (I actually took a picture of the girls’ faces, so I could remember to write the blog 😉 AND to document that they actually stated OUT LOUD that they were gonna wash their own mouths out with soap! )
If you hear the rumor that we eat baby poo and then rinse our mouths with soap… THAT LADY STARTED THE RUMOR!
[Ashley said it’s called Bolthouse Green Goodness juice… the green stuff.]
Theron Won… Kinda
[pics incl] Theron and Traimee Doig popped in for a visit and while everyone was standing, Theron realized we have a new couch/chair… which prompted a sprint to the chair. Theron’s sister is much calmer than the girls that hang out in this house (we are working on curing Traimee). So, while Theron “was first” to sit in the chair, there are no rules preventing everyone else from “also sitting in the chair.” Traimee, Abby and Nightwing are out of the picture view, all glad they did not even attempt, the race to the chair!
What was cute? After a minute, I realized that the Doig kids KNOW Abby, they just hadn’t seen each other recently. I reintroduced them, Theron laughed and said he babysat Abby once. Then, I had Abby stand up. She’s close to catching up with Heather. Great laughs!
All these kids KNOW me [cooking saga: http://blog.scottsontherocks.com/blog/2014/04/22/blueberry-muffins/ ], so when I suggested dinner, they asked where Jeff is (he and William were golfing) and, it didn’t take them long to grab Courtney and I gave them MY card and they headed up to Duke’s 😉 Yep, that’s how I cook good meals! [THERON… I need the pix from your phone!]

Purple Iris
[pics incl] Ok, those of you that commented on the weeds that were in the flowers [http://blog.scottsontherocks.com/blog/2014/05/26/kids-at-elitch/]
Heather mowed and William & Jeff helped me watch them pull weeds 😉

How To Get A Frosty
It’s really a visual, those of you that have been here (or locals) should be able to follow along. First, you start with two girls that’ll both be 19 in two weeks (and neither have a license). You add a sudden ice cream craving and inability to convince anyone to drive you a mile.
Courtney and Claudia walked the mile to Safeway, but they had the main door closed, which required walking down to the other door. After the return trip across the main road, carton of ice cream acquired (Blue Bell, of course), they decided to stop at Conoco for slushies; that part of the store was closed. So they walked back across the road to Shell, but they didn’t like the flavors, so continued down to Dazbog; which was closed. Dazbog is down the road at the edge of the King Soopers lot. After texting everyone at the house, to see if anyone else wanted a Frosty from Wendy’s before they checked out, Courtney had Claudia call Jeff, because NOW they cannot carry all the melting items.
And, you thought you would just walk to Wendy’s (Which is in the Safeway parking lot). 🙂

Not Killer Moths
[pics incl] Miller Moths, LOTS of Miller moths will make most people scream like little girls, if they are suddenly swarmed. Last night was one of those nights (NOT me!). Tonight, I saw them demonstrate Aztec Moths on the news. There are no words, I took a photo of the 8-10″ wingspan! [NOTE: they are pointing to the snake head pattern at the tip of each wing].

Kids at Elitch
[pics incl] Heather, William & Abby. And because ya’ll keep sending me pics of your flowers, here are our purple Iris & orange corsage orchid. To be more accurate, the Iris belong to the McLain’s, Laurie’s just storing them in our empty, pathetic flower bed 😉

Random Photos of Indy Trip
[pics incl] Ah, Dad (Alan) getting dogs/brats off the grill. This was taken moments before they all fell off the tray 😉 Tasted fine to me 🙂
Uncle Skip’s very first time EVER, shredding carrots. I felt the moment should be documented.
I loved this!
I know I have LOTS & LOTS of pictures… someday I hope to go through them all 😉 We need to SWAP!
