The Cats
[pics incl] While I wouldn’t call it love, they’ve all stopped hissing 😉 Nightwing [ http://blog.scottsontherocks.com/blog/2013/10/23/nightwing-the-cat/ ] has broken down the other two and they let him chase them… it’s ALMOST like playing together 🙂 Heather managed to get all three of them to chase her string! Yesterday, I had a toddler attached to my leg/ankle all day! I finally got some relief when he left me to attack Jeff’s feet! Today, Peanut “let” Nightwing lay near him… both on my legs!

Conversations with Endocrinologists
I personally, have had many different doctors tell me many different things, all under the guise of “normal” test results. It wasn’t until I started demanding to see the actual results, that I learned that “normal” is defined differently by each lab and by each doctor. I’ve even had one doctor send the same sample to 5 different labs and get 5 extremely diverse responses. Best thing I can advise is do your homework (I have many links to starting points in my categories section). Don’t just stick with one opinion, read them all and do what is best for you! I have to tell you, all of my thyroid tests were “NORMAL” yet, I had a baseball out the side of my neck… HOW IS THAT NORMAL?!?
Talk to your doctors and maybe read through some of the topics discussed in this article:

DCSD BOE Outside Influence
Please do your homework prior to voting in the 2013 Douglas County Board of Education election. Get the facts, talk to parents, teachers and kids!
Ask yourself why so many people who do not live in DC are so concerned with our supposedly NON-PARTISAN local election?
http://www.9news.com/news/article/362392/339/Gessler-redirects-volunteers-to-DougCo-races
How can the Colorado Secretary of State maintain non-partisanship and avoid a seemingly high conflict of interest, in certifying election results, when he is actively participating in this local NON-PARTISAN election?

Feel free to talk to me or my kids. The kids are the best place to find out how the schools are functioning. YES, the kids have said they would be happy to speak with anyone! Just ask.

Andrea, Reincarnated
You must have known “teenage Andrea” to fully appreciate the fact that we regularly feel like “smacking Andrea up side the head” or just answering “Yes, Andrea” whenever Ashley pulls out an evil giggle or sly comment coupled with BOUNCING away quickly. Or the monologue about her class project that has nothing to do with the class and everything to do with “The Lion King!” Or how about her procrastination project?!?!
This week… I bet Andrea’s ears were/are burning!

DCSD BOE Election
Please do your homework and make informed choices in the DCSD Board of Education election. Ask questions of EVERYONE. I’ve had a few ask me and Yes, the “challengers” do support charter schools. They do not support any one political party as this is supposed to be a non-partisan election. Feel free to talk to my kids, they are intelligent and extremely articulate about what has happened the past several school years. If you want my two-cents; these candidates deserve your consideration: http://blog.scottsontherocks.com/blog/2013/09/12/douglas-county-board-of-education-election/

Colorado Hotshots
I met some of the Colorado fire crew for the Hotshots, out of Pike. These guys were great! At first, I asked if they were part of the Hotshots crew that died… just kindred spirits. They said they were training, and they were in full gear… but I really couldn’t figure out what the heck they were doing at the Lonetree lightrail?!?

Nightwing, the Cat
[pics incl] We have a foster cat, named Nightwing. His “dad,” Drew, joined the Navy so he’s bunking with us while Drew is at basic. Our two cats are “thrilled” to have a toddler in the house… NOT! It’s only been a couple of days. Fortunately, we have three floors so they can spread out. He’s already claimed Courtney’s room as his own!
I’ve taken about 50 pictures of a black blur 😉 because he can’t be still!!! I think he’s about 8-9 months. Today, he discovered “another kitty!” I’m guessing by his reactions, that he has never encountered a mirror! I was laughing so hard, but I finally managed to snap a photo. When I saw the picture, it was kinda creepy but perfect for Halloween. 🙂
