[pics incl]  It’s that time of year where I feel compelled to have everyone empty their closets, “purge” old clothes and get rid of items that are too small.  I also had to go get everything out of the linen closet because after our trip to San Diego, all the camping stuff was mixed in with the house stuff!  We pulled a table into the living room (the LONG folding table) and each kid took a turn “purging” 😉  BUT THEN… Jeff decided to drag out all the school supplies for a similar ritual.  Like I said, “the closet threw up in the living room”

[pics incl] We were able to meet up with Karen, Duane, Meaghan and Michael at the San Diego zoo and out for dinner after.  You might think the reason for going to San Diego is for Ashley’s basketball but it’s really because Courtney wanted to see a Panda.  😉

[pics incl]  Unfortunately, due to the accident a couple years ago, the trainers were not allowed in the water with Shamu/whales.  The show was still awesome and we enjoyed our visit.

[pics incl]  Jeff and Courtney took out a beach bicycle while the other 3 played in the ocean.  The coast guard came by and hosed down all the kids out on the swim platform.  That night we could see the fireworks from Sea World San Diego.  (so logically the quiet hours at the campground do not start until AFTER the fireworks every evening).

[pics incl]  We made it to our campsite and it was “almost” on the beach.  There was actually a wild fowl preserve along the shoreline near us but it was a short walk through the campground to the jetty and beach.

[pics incl]  We were in the heart of Mormon country and needed to take a break to eat lunch.  When we pulled off the exit, we saw what appeared to be an old ranch/fort… it was called Cove Fort.  Well, they had picnic tables out for public use so our lunch soon turned into a tour!  AWESOME history!
